On 29th October an inspection of the skylight repairs above stands 4, 5 and 6 was conducted by the representatives of Voivodeship Conservationist. The repairs were completed by the company ‘Marbudex’ at the total cost of 129 000 PLN and were financed from the following sources:

  • Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (60 000 PLN),
  • Marshal’s Office of Łódź Voivodeship (45 000 PLN),
  • own assets of PARE (1%) and crowd-funding (24 000 PLN).

The scope of the repairs was expanded thanks to the donation of construction glass by the Skierniewice branch of company Piklington. The additional cost of installation was covered form the 1% of income tax.

We are still before the next building activity which is the first stage of renovations of the old water tower. It is still possible to support us via the crowd-funding website:

or with a direct transfer to our bank account:

After 3rd November we plan to present the initial report from the crowd-funding and start sending the souvenirs to our supporters.

The last Saturday, 5th October, welcomed us with exceptionally cold weather which become milder later in the afternoon. Therefore, most of the 134 guests arrived at the Shed’s grounds in the later hours of the Open Day.

Our usual attractions – the tour of our collection of rolling stock and the exhibition of railway signalling and traffic control were joined by the exhibition of photographs by Zbyszek Gradowski.

An extraordinary attraction that day was the presentation of uniforms and arms from the World War II prepared by the reconstruction groups Niepodległość 1863 and ‘Ostoya’.

As in previous Open Days, we were supported by Łódź Agglomeration Railways (free return for the guests of the Shed) and Atmosfera pizza house (catering).

This was the last opportunity this year to visit us during the regular Open Day. Still we are still open to the public on the Photo Day (19th October) and the Railwaymen Day (23rd November). We would also like to remind that organized groups can visit us outside of the schedule after earlier arrangement.
